PROLOTHERAPY

Prolotherapy (short for proliferative therapy) is an injection therapy specifically aimed at treating orthopaedic conditions. Also known as ligament reconstructive therapy or sclerotherapy, prolotherapy is a recognized orthopaedic procedure that stimulates the body’s natural healing processes to strengthen joints weakened by trauma or arthritis.

Traditional approaches with anti-inflammatory drugs and surgery often fail to stabilize damaged joints. Prolotherapy has the unique ability to directly address the cause of instability and repair the weakened sites, resulting in stabilization of the joint. When an irritant is injected precisely into the site of pain or injury, a mild, controlled inflammatory response is initiated which stimulates the body to lay down new tendon or ligament fibres, resulting in a repair of the weakened tissues. Combined with PRP and Stem Cells, Prolotherapy has proven itself a critical modality in regenerative care.
